The world seeks to commercialize or exploit what is referred to as Easter for profit. We cannot stop the world from being the world, but we can let anyone willing to listen to God’s reason for the cross. Jesus’s resurrection is the most important event in human history.
Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? It is an interesting question. Many people forget that Jesus asked God through prayer to “let this cup pass from me” (Luke 22:42). Jesus was asking, is there another way other than the cross? The answer was no. If Jesus did not die on the cross for humanity’s sake, we would have no hope of salvation from our sins. I pray that we take time to reflect and change our lives to honor Jesus’s sacrifice for us.
