King Solomon understood the following Proverb from God’s word.
“The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, but the foolishness of fools is deceit” (Proverbs 14:8).
Solomon was wise, and full of understanding because he asked for that insight from God (2 Chronicles 1:8-12). No one wakes up knowing what to do in this life. If you have lived a long life, some would say you must be wise. However, the Bible challenges the notion that wisdom comes with age (Matthew 7:24). No matter their age, wise people if they build their house on a rock that is a wise thing to do. A rock provides a firm foundation on which to live. If one’s house is not founded on a rock it is built upon beach sand of worldly deception. For most people, wisdom takes time, and usually, that means that person has been through many hardships the longer they are alive.
Wisdom is worth pursuing because it comes from God and is helpful to everyone (Proverbs 2:6). God wants us all to approach life with insight. Jesus is that rock to build a life. Are you willing to take the time and gain wisdom from God?
