God’s Growth Chart

Children grow up fast; if you do not believe that to be true, open the photo section of your phone, and observe your child or grandchild’s physical changes from the previous year. We see the reality that time slows down for no one.

Did you know God expects us to grow in our Christian walk? The scriptures provide a growth analogy that compares a child’s mindset and a mature person’s mindset about being a Christian (Philippians 3:15). There are three growth areas, understanding, thinking, and actions (1 Corinthians 14:20, Ephesians 4:11-16, Matthew 5:44).

God has clear expectations for His people. “He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason, you do not hear them, because you are not of God” (John 8:47). If we want to grow to mature Christians, “seek those which are above, where Christ is…” (Colossians 3:1). Have you invested in God’s growth chart? If not, today is the day to make a change toward maturity in Christ.
